With our very first listen, Nigel's songs had such an effect, his melodies haunted us for days, so we finally decided to get in touch! Inspiring emails began to fly between Georgia and our apartment in Berlin, and that confirmed it: we asked Nigel what he would think about joining BUTTERFLY COLLECTORS, our brand new record label. Well, he was totally in.
Singer-songwriter Nigel Wright, from Georgia/US, lives by the Blue Ridge Mountains, writing and recording his music mostly at home. Deeply rooted in modern folk tradition, leading to the direct simplicity in his work, his music is also noted for its precise shadings. Along with his dense overlays of vocal and acoustic guitar progressions, his lyrics are subtle, eclectic, and fragile.
With the single, ANNA/CLEAR EYED PLANS, Butterfly Collectors begins the first chapter of Nigel Wright."
